Interior Designer Ridgefield, CT

Ginger Lemon Indigo designs considered, lived-in interiors for homeowners across Ridgefield and the wider Fairfield County landscape. The work suits New England farmhouses, Georgians, and the Queen Anne and Shingle Style estates tucked into the hillsides. The Studio specializes in full-home renovations, as well as home furnishing and styling.

A Ridgefield home asks a particular kind of attention. Much of the village building stock goes back centuries: wide-plank floors, exposed beams, central chimneys, low Colonial ceilings. The lots sit among stone walls and mature trees on wooded hillsides that shape every room's light.

What We Bring to Ridgefield

Nearby Darien CT family room with antique walnut chest, abstract orange-and-black canvas, charcoal sectional and shaggy cream rug
Nearby Darien CT wet bar with taupe walls, marble counter, polished nickel tap and cluster of blush, brown and blue glass pendants

For a young family based in Darien, CT — a short drive from Ridgefield — we worked with the pieces they had already collected rather than starting over. Fresh paint, new hardware, and a handful of considered commissions: a Greek-green French cabinet in the kitchen, gold grasscloth dressing the dining room, a deep-brown living room that cocoons the family at the end of the day. Liveable for children, elegant for evening.

Ginger Lemon Indigo designs comfortable, considered, and beautifully functioning homes for families, empty nesters, and busy professionals — spaces that are modern in sensibility, honest in material and warm in character. Barbra Fordyce founded the Studio on a simple but deeply held belief, that home is not an aesthetic exercise. Having lived across the Netherlands, London, and the Connecticut coast, she brings a global eye and a genuine instinct for what makes a space feel truly livable.
