Interior Designer Darien, CT

Ginger Lemon Indigo designs considered, lived-in interiors for homeowners across Darien and the Fairfield County coast. The work suits early 20th-century Colonials, shingle-style homes, Cape Cods, and contemporary renovations. The Studio specializes in full-home renovations, as well as home furnishing and styling.

What We Bring to Darien

A Darien home asks a particular kind of attention. The architecture is often early 20th-century Colonial or shingle-style: clapboard siding, gabled roofs, generous porches. The lots sit between mature landscape, beach clubs, and the pull of Long Island Sound. Coastal durability matters as much as interior flow.

For a young Darien family, we worked with the furniture they had already collected rather than starting over. Fresh paint, new hardware, and a handful of considered commissions layered against what was already there. A home that had to be livable for children and elegant for evenings.

A Considered Home Renovation

The kitchen pairs a French cabinet with an antique farm table under a chrome fixture with dangling glass pegs; from there the house deepens through gold grasscloth in the dining room and into a rich brown living room that cocoons the family at the end of the day.

Ginger Lemon Indigo designs comfortable, considered, and beautifully functioning homes for families, empty nesters, and busy professionals — spaces that are modern in sensibility, honest in material and warm in character. Barbra Fordyce founded the Studio on a simple but deeply held belief, that home is not an aesthetic exercise. Having lived across the Netherlands, London, and the Connecticut coast, she brings a global eye and a genuine instinct for what makes a space feel truly livable.
