Interior Designer Fairfield

Ginger Lemon Indigo designs considered, lived-in interiors for homeowners across Fairfield and the wider Fairfield County coast. The work suits classic Colonials, Cape Cods, Tudor and Craftsman homes, and the historic properties along Southport Village. A Fairfield home asks a particular kind of attention. Many older Colonials and Cape Cods carry original millwork, plaster walls, and period proportions worth keeping. The challenge is making those compact, character-filled spaces feel generous and functional for how a family actually lives today.

For a family putting down roots in Westport, CT, this newly-built colonial farmhouse takes its cues from the garden. Three sliding doors open the space to the outside; the palette follows directly from the landscape: wood, stone, wool, and cognac leather. A Danish sectional and two lounge chairs gather around a custom oak coffee table; a stone sculpture sits framed in the window, the garden behind her. Restrained where it needed to be, warm where it counted.

Ginger Lemon Indigo designs comfortable, considered, and beautifully functioning homes for families, empty nesters, and busy professionals — spaces that are modern in sensibility, honest in material and warm in character. Barbra Fordyce founded the Studio on a simple but deeply held belief, that home is not an aesthetic exercise. Having lived across the Netherlands, London, and the Connecticut coast, she brings a global eye and a genuine instinct for what makes a space feel truly livable.
